Everyone Remembers Their 1st
Do you remember the first movie you ever saw in a theater?
The first time I went to see a film, I remember my parents telling me we were going "to the movies". I had no clue what that meant. I had been to the rental store to pick up a movie to watch on my family's small black and white TV, but had no idea what I was about to experience.
My family and I walked into a large building with lots of lights on the exterior and I got my first whiff of popcorn. It soon became clear that this was an event. We made our way to the inside of a dark room with lots of chairs and a giant white screen at the front. Being 6 years old, I had no idea what I was in for. I had no idea of the life changing magic I was about to witness.
I feel very lucky that my first movie was part of what was considered the Disney Renaissance; The Little Mermaid.

The story, the animation, the music, and the entire experience of witnessing this splendor with my family is one of the happiest memories I have from my childhood. It was a moment I will never forget. It was the moment I fell in love with cinema.
Everyone has experiences that changed their life and helped mold them into who they are. For me, going "to the movies" has become a life long pastime that I love to share with my friends and family. I love sharing the experience with others. This is why I take every opportunity I can to share this with my own kids. This is why I take my kids to every Marvel and Star Wars movie that I can. I want them to fall in love with the spectacle or at least have a better understanding of who their father is. This is why I am so hyped for taking my kids to see Avengers: Infinity War.
