The Great Lakes Avengers

(or "What I Did While Quarantined")
I miss Marvel movies so bad right now. I could really use some major nerdy cultural event to bring people together around a shared love. I miss sitting in the theater on opening night with a bunch of other Marvel fans on the edge of our seats, waiting to see what happens to our favorite characters. Then discussing and debating things about the movie, the comics, what we liked, the larger impact on the MCU. I miss all that fun stuff.
So I read an opinion article on CBR.com a while ago. The headline was:
It got me thinking. Could "The Worst Heroes of All Time"; The Great Lakes Avengers work as a super hero team within the Marvel Cinematic Universe? I took it as a challenge. So I began looking at Marvel Studios scripts, and feverishly brushed up on my GLA history. I read everything I could get my hands on about this insanely odd and ridiculously morbid team.
By adapting some of my favorite stories from John Byrne, Dan Slott, and Zac Gorman I made a movie that I would want to see. I love these books and I just wanted to share them with others who enjoy Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I hope you enjoy my lame fan fiction. 😊
